Drive North Turns 10
Come celebrate our first album's birthday
It feels like just yesterday that we put out our first album ‘Drive North’. It also feels like forever ago. So much has changed in our lives since then— my hair was long and green, for example.
This album has a stickiness about it that has only made it more beloved as the years have passed. The 12 (and later 14) tracks on this album are, for whatever reason, our most requested songs when we play live.
What makes Drive North so special? I have some ideas, but maybe you have some too. Certainly a lot of it has to do with the thrashing sonic energy of the record — it’s the sound of four young musicians dead set on making their mark on the world.
I also think a lot of it has to do with the songs themselves. The album is a kind of funny and emotionally raw narration on growing up, trying to find your place in the world. It’s unapologetic, brash, and ultimately not-so-serious.
In honor of the 10 year anniversary of the album’s release, we’ve decided to do some very special anniversary shows throughout 2026 in some of our favorite places to play.
The first shows will be in:
Mexico City and it will be FREE [rsvp]
Orange County CA [tickets]
Brooklyn NY [tickets]
Philadelphia PA (for the first time in 7 years!) [tickets]
We will be playing the album front to back, along with some new tracks and other favorites from our catalogue.
SEE YOU THERE?
More than any other collection of songs in our catalogue, people have stories about this album and how it fits into their life. It’s the record people put on when they are getting ready to go out with their friends, or it’s the shared interest that two kids bond over as they fall in love — a soundtrack to real memories.
I can’t think of a greater honor as a songwriter than to know you’ve made something that has connected with people like that.
How has Drive North fit into your life? We want to hear from you!

If people don’t fall in love with SWMRS through the Drive North album are you even human?? Are you ALIVE?!! This album makes me feel alive every time I put it on (which is every fricken day), it’s a sick obsession at this point. SO PUMPED to drive even farther South in April 🤣🖤
Uncool Fest in Berkeley 2018 was the reason I met my (now) husband 💚 Love you all & this 👏🏽
